Pumpkin Spice Latte
With the arrival of Autumn and the end of the summer heat come those days when you just want to stay snug on the sofa with a blanket and a hot beverage. And we feel like if there is any drink that personifies this season it has to be the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
With the fruity flavor of the pumpkin and the rich aromas of spices, combined with a good espresso, this is a recipe that leaves your whole house smelling deliciously.
It requires some preparation work because of the pumpkin, but it’s well worth it. If you do not use in your cooking, we advise you to look for small pieces already cut in the supermarket and try it out. This is, however, a very versatile fruit that can be used in many dishes, such as soup, to bake in the oven, jams or to make delicious churros.
Regarding the type of milk, you can also use vegetable drinks. We decided to use whole milk to make the milk froth, but alternatively you may add whipped cream.
This is a recipe that leaves your whole house smelling deliciously
- 1 tablespoon pureed pumpkin
- 1/2 tablespoon powdered Cinnamon
- 1 pinch of powdered Nutmeg
- 1 pinch of powdered Cloves
- 1 pinch of grated Ginger
- 1 tablespoon Yellow or Brown Sugar (optional)
- 1 shot of espresso
- 200ml of Milk/ Vegetable Drink
Steam the pumpkin chunks and then crush them through a sifter until you get a puree.
Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger to the puree and mix well.
Put the mixture in a mug.
Take a shot of coffee and pour it into the mug.
Put the milk in a jar and use the coffee maker option to make milk froth. If you do not have a machine with this function, heat the milk in the microwave and then use a wand to beat it to create air bubbles.
Pour the milk into the mug and stir gently with a spoon.
Garnish with cinnamon powder and enjoy the flavors of Autumn!
